Wikipedia editors have locked the profile page of the former Lagos State Governor, Bola Ahmed Tinubu after alleged “persistent vandalism”.

Reports say the decision was taken by Wikipedia after the age section of the leader of the All Progressives Congress Bola (APC) was reportedly edited 84 times.

Yesterday was the 69th birthday of the politician, and as he celebrated his Wikipedia page kept changing to reflect the conflicting age of the APC national leader.

Confused social media users though were quick to point out that his age was reflecting, 79 on his Wikipedia page.

Surprisingly as others went to verify, his age was back to 69. The back and forth kept on happening for some time.

Tinubu’s profile page on Wikipedia now has a padlock sign and cannot be edited by the public as at the time filing in this report.

The Cable reported that the protection level on Tinubu’s page was raised by Girth Summit, a Scottish Wikipedia editor who has worked on articles from more than 20 countries. Summit’s reason for blocking edit from the page is “persistent vandalism”.
