A 200-level female undergraduate of the Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba has allegedly committed suicide over alleged heartbreak.
The incident was confirmed on Wednesday by the spokesman of the institution, Victor Akinpelumi, who identified the student as Feranmi Fasunle Omowumi of the Department of Political Science.
According to Akinpelumi who spoke with the Nation, Fasunle reportedly drank poisonous substances believed to be sniper.
She died this morning after being taken to several hospitals.
He said that the management sympathizes with the family while also adding that the victim did not leave any suicide note to indicate the reason for her actions.
Some students attributed her action to heartbreak but a friend who pleaded anonymity said the late Fasunle was not into any relationship before she passed on.
