After 12 days in ICU, Brazilian soccer legend Pele set to leave hospital

80-year-old Brazilian soccer legend Edson Arantes do Nascimento, popularly known as Pele is set to leave Sao Paulo’s Albert Einstein Hospital in Brazil after spending 12 days in intensive care unit (ICU).

Reports say the football legend who was born in the month of October 23, 1940, in Três Corações, Brazil will leave the hospital to continue his recovery from surgery to remove a colon tumour.

The piece of news was made known and confirmed on the official Instagram account of the daughter of three-time World Cup winner, Kely Nascimento on Wednesday, September 29th, 2021.

“Bye, bye Brazil. I loved including my father’s recovery on my social media. It wasn’t planned, it was a decision we made at the hospital to try to have a little fun with you guys.

“Now that he’s stronger and leaving the hospital to continue recovering and treating himself at home, I’m going back home and my posts will go back to bring posts about my work, my city, food, drink, my kids, dogs and chickens!!

“I thank you again, from the bottom of my heart and my father’s three hearts, for all the affection and love we received from you this month,” Kely added on IG.
