Self-acclaimed ‘African Giant’ Damini Ogulu aka Burna Boy has garnered over 100 million streams on music streaming platform Boomplay, thus becoming the first artiste to achieve such a feat.

The Grammy Award winning artiste is closely followed by ‘Vibration’ crooner Fireboy and ‘Science Student’ exponent Olamide ‘Badoo’ on the all-time Boomplay charts list.

Fresh reports reveal that the album ‘African Giant’ by Burna Boy has gathered a record of 29 Million streams on Boomplay while the Grammy-winning ‘Twice as Tall’ recorded one million streams within 24hrs of its release on the music streaming platform.

The development came weeks after Burna Boy “Twice As Tall” album was nominated for the 2021 BRIT Awards.

Burna Boy was been nominated in the ‘International Male Solo Artist’ category alongside other musicians like The Weeknd, Bruce Springsteen, Childish Gambino and Tame Impala.

The energetic singer will hope to snatch the crown ahead of other nominated musicians at the BRIT Awards which will take place on 11 May from the O2, and will be hosted by comedian Jack Whitehall.
