Fast-rising Instagram comedian Joshua Sunday popularly known in entertainment circles as DGeneral has taken to social media to deny claims that he is a drug trafficker.

Recall that the humour merchant and three others were recently arrested by men of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) when they raided an estate in the Lekki area of Lagos State.

He was later arraigned at the Federal High Court in Lagos by the NDLEA alongside Caleb William, a cinematographer after they were arrested for unlawfully dealing in 15 g of Cannabis and 14 g of tramadol.

The pair who were charged to court with three counts of trafficking Tramadol and Cannabis Sativa, both pleaded not guilty to the charges leveled against them by the NDLEA.

In his ruling, Justice Daniel Osiagor, who noted that the volume of substance was minimal, stated that he would rather convict the defendants and caution them, rather than sentence them.

Justice Osiagor cautioned the defendants and asked to “go and sin no more”.

While reacting to the court ruling, DGeneral in a video posted on social media denied being a drug trafficker.

He added further in his video post that if he was one, he wouldn’t have been released from custody.

”As you all can see, I am alive. I am healthy, back to the house. I just want to debunk the fact…there is this news speculating that De General is a drug trafficker. I am not a drug trafficker. If I was a drug trafficker, you think they would allow me to go like that. I only traffic laughter,” he said.
