Former Barcelona FC and Brazil defender Dani Alves will be prosecuted in court for a s3xual assault case on Wednesday in the city of Barcelona in Spain.

The Spanish legal system will come into full effect against the soccer star tomorrow following an investigation that was opened in the early stages of 2023.

In 24-hours time, a court judge will inform him that the investigation has been closed, and that he is being prosecuted for rape, and will then have one-day ultimatum to pay the proposed €150k in damages.

That would then cover the damages due to the victim, if he is found guilty.

Dani Alves who was detained in January after being accused of raping a young woman in the bathroom of a nightclub in late December has spent the last six months in custody.

The 40-year-old Brazilian has been held in custody because the court investigating him declared the football player a flight risk thus denying him bail.
