Former Military Head of State of Nigeria, Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida has explained why he has refused to re-marry after the death of his wife, Hajiya Maryam Babangida.
The former military president who opened up during an interview with Trust TV said that he is still single because he decided to honour his late wife “by being not a bachelor but being unmarried”.
He also denied claims that has remarried as claimed by some news platforms.

IBB said “No” and also disclosed that he decided to honour his late wife “by being not a bachelor but being unmarried”.
He said; “No, I didn’t do it, you would have known.
“The media still snoop around me, they should have known. I haven’t. It is a matter of choice; I decided to honour her by not being a bachelor but being unmarried.”
Recall that his wife Maryam died at the age of 61 at the University of California’s Jonsson Comprehensive Cancer Centre (JCCC) in Los Angeles, United States on December 27, 2009, after battling ovarian cancer for years.
