Popular socialite Mr Obi Iyiegbu aka Obi Cubana better known as Obi Cubana has opened up for the first time after being questioned by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) over his alleged links with Asian drug dealers.

Recall that Obi Cubana, the chairman of Cubana Group of Companies on Thursday, visited the headquarters of the NDLEA and was grilled based on an invitation over some foreign transactions.

Obi Cubana, who was arrested last year by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) over an alleged money laundering case, was reportedly questioned for five hours on Thursday at the Abuja office of the NDLEA.

While opening up on his invitation by the NDLEA during an Instagram live chat with OAP Freeze on Saturday January 15,2022, Obi Cubana said: “In life, people must face certain challenges I’m facing right now. There was no witch hunting, nobody was after me.

“To link me with drugs was sad. I’ve never felt so low. To me, anything that has to do with drugs is repulsive. It’s something I’ve made a covenant with my God that I will never support, invest in or be part of.

“The thought of that invitation by NDLEA alone was sad, I was not accused but somebody that paid money to my account was linked and I believe the agency in question is a responsible one and when they are done with their investigation, it will be made public.

“It’s a sad thing, I don’t want to discuss it further,” he added.
