Oscar Pistorius freed after spending 13-years in prison

Disgraced South African professional sprinter and convicted murder Oscar Pistorius has been released after spending no fewer than 13-years in prison.

The athlete nicknamed ‘the blade runner’ was reportedly smuggled out of prison after he was given permission to return home.

Oscar was escorted out of Atteridgeville Correctional Centre and taken to his new home on the estate of his uncle Arnold Pistorius outside Pretoria.

His release comes 11-years after he fatally shot his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp, through a toilet door at his home in South Africa.

Before his release, Oscar, a double-amputee was granted parole by the South Africa’s Department of Corrections which revealed in a statement that he will be released on January 5th.

South Africa’s Department of Corrections however stated that Oscar will be constantly monitored by parole officials for five years until his sentence expires.
