Oshoala overtakes Nkwocha, wins fifth African Women’s Player of the Year Award

Super Falcons and Barcelona FC striker Azizat Oshoala has retained her crown as CAF African Women’s Player of the Year.

The talented soccer star was named as the 2022 CAF African Women’s Player of the Year at a ceremony organised by Africa’s football governing body (CAF) which was staged in Rabat, Morocco on Thursday.

Oshoala has now clinched the CAF African Women’s Player of the Year Award for a record fifth time this surpassing her compatriot Perpetual Nkwocha who has won it four times.

In the male category, Sadio Mane of Senegal also retained the CAF Player of the Year Award beating off competition from Egypt’s Mohamed Salah and his compatriot Edourd Mendy.
