26-year-old mulato Super Eagles striker Cyril Dessers has revealed why he wants his compatriot and teammate Paul Onuachu to be sold by his club Genk FC of Belgium.

Lanky and goal efficient Paul Onuachu is expected to leave Genk FC this summer with a number of top clubs in Europe interested in his skilled services.

Dessers warmed the bench of his team for the better part of last season due to the scintillating form of Paul Onuachu who scored 29 league goals in 33 appearances.

Onuachu also found the back of the net four times in five games in the Jupiler Pro League Playoffs, and once in the Beker van Belgie to bring his total tally to 35 in 41 games for the whole season.

However, the burly marksman (Dessers) said in an interview with a foreign medium that he hopes his international teammate Paul Onuachu secures a move to another club this summer to improve his chances of playing regularly at Genk FC.

“Wouldn’t they just sell Onuachu? Hopefully, that would be good for me,” Dessers told voetbalniews.
Dessers only managed to score seven goals in 32 league appearances for Genk in the outgone 2020/21 campaign making him the lowest scoring outfield player for the modest Belgian club.
